Physical vs. Electronic

There are differences that you may want to know.

Physical

The physical (analog) issue of The Star is in Black & White, and is usually sent to AWON Members who don’t have access to electronic devices.

vs. Electronic

The electronic (digital) issue of The Star is in color, and is delivered as a PDF (in a Portable Document Format). To access the current issue, Click Here!

The advantages of the E-Star are significant, as in addition to being in COLOR, the issue is often available more quickly than the physical issue, which depends on the vagaries of the U.S. Mail. It can simply be called to your screen (the default delivery when you “Click Here” ~ as above ~ where it can be printed, if you want a hard copy. Once it appears on your screen, it can then be saved to your desktop as a separate, stand-alone PDF file.

One of the greatest advantages to the reader is that the little Blue “W” (wherever you see it) is actually a LINK to an AWON WEB page ~ for the purpose of extending or deepening a story, or to provide additional photos or other assets that would be prohibitively expensive to include in the physical issue.

Watch for these “Blue W” LINKS when you read The E-Star!

The greatest advantage to AWON is the insignificant COST, compared to the physical printing, binding, labeling, and mailing costs of the physical issue ~ which represents a VERY significant cost. The physical issue will always be appropriate for Members and others who don’t have access to electronic devices. But where readers DO have access to electronic devices, where the physical issue is unneccesary, we recommend (and strongly urge) a switch to the instantly downloadable E-Star.
