There are so many to thank in the course of remembering and honoring the men and women lost in WWII.

Above all, AWON Members ~ who consistently support us and each other in the memory of our fathers. To our loyal Volunteers ~ and to those who support our initiatives and infrastructures in more direct ways, almost every day (and you know who you are) ~ your time, attention, and caring is what makes it work for all of us ~ and AWON salutes you!

Thanks to our Providers ~ on and off the Web :

Internet Providers: In the beginning (or near beginning, in 1995) West.Net of Santa Barbara, CA gifted us with five years’ worth of server space to host our Website. After those first five years, West.Net became Silicone Beach, which became Netlojix, which became Impulse, which just became NDIC. Thank you all for your loyalty and for your years of service and help! These days, we thank Squarespace for hosting the AWON Website, while our oldest server (now called NDIC) still hosts many of our files ~ as does West-Point.org ~ who still hosts many of our historical pages and files (gratis!) ~ even though our ListServ has moved. Without every one of you ~ we literally wouldn’t be here!

List Providers: In the beginning, when AWON’s first ListServ was started by Mike Stoddard, there was barely an internet, and E-Mail wasn’t known as “software.” Our second AWON List was hosted by H-Net ~ the Humanities Department of Michigan State University. Our third AWON List was hosted (over many years) by our friends at West-Point.org ~ to whom we owe a lot. AWON’s current ListServ, Forum and Collaborative services are hosted by MeWe, whom we recommend you join!

Other Collaborators: Our Database for many years has been hosted on Triple 8 ~ a specialist in Filemaker Pro. From time to time, we use GoToMeeting for Collaborative services; and MailChimp for coordination of miscellaneous Member contact.

General Support: AWON Headquarters offices are provided under the auspices of the American Legion of Indianapolis ~ who has given us a home, technology connections, and so much more. Currently certain printing and mailing assignments are done by the Legion ~ as well as the printing and mailing of our Quarterly Newsletter ~ The Star!

Accommodations: The Higgins Hotel and WWII Museum Complex in New Orleans, Louisana has been patient enough to work with us over three years ~ trying mightily to book our next (2020, then 2021, and now 2022) National Conference. It finally came true ~ May 4 to 8, 2022!
