Our Honor Roll in the Iowa Gold Star Military Museum?

This is a real longshot . . . but worth a look . . .

Some time ago ~ when we were first planning the redo of the AWON Website ~ I had an idea to do something with our Honor Roll.

To see the Honor Roll ~ just go to the “Honor Roll” Choice on our “US” menu, above. It runs 27 minutes ~ but you’ll see without looking at all of it ~ that it contains the pictures of our members’ fathers ~ a couple of hundred ~ that we have in the Tribute section.

As it relates to MUSEUMS ~ our thought was that even well appointed WWII-oriented museums have all the hardware ~ the tanks & planes & weapons & uniforms & more of the physical elements of WWII . . . but they don’t show those (mostly our fathers and others) who did the heavy lifting ~ who DROVE those tanks, and FLEW those planes. It’s an element that’s simply missing.

We can fix that with our Honor Roll. With a big screen ~ and a $30-a-month internet connection ~ our Honor Roll could LOOP ~ and provide the missing link (the soldiers, sailors, airmen, & marines) ~ in very little physical space.

Simply by linking to our Honor Roll . . . the actual men (and women) who gave their lives can be a part of the WWII story.

Picture our Honor Roll ~ (all four of our father are aboard) ~ on easy display (with a web connection) at hundreds of museums across the country.

Our Honor Roll could be looped on small screens . . . or very large ones . . .

Before we mount this effort nationwide . . . it would be an honor to see it used FIRST at the Iowa Gold Star Military Museum. Do we know anyone there?
