Moby Dick's • On the Pier, Santa Barbara, CA.
Dave Fish, Tommy Morris, Bernice and Roger Gamble, and Rik Peirson.
Missing from the picture are Central Coast Coordinator Mackay Crampton and Lois Klein,
who had to leave before the picture was taken.
Mackay Crampton and Rik Peirson organized the third luncheon of the Central Coast Regional Group -- at Moby's on the pier in Santa Barbara. Six of our nine-member group attended, including Roger Gamble and his wife, Bernice, down from Arroyo Grande. Missed were Wayne Lipe (Clovis, CA), Diane Sheppard Wood (Los Osos, CA),and original member Manny Vanegas (Camarillo, CA).
The big topic of conversation was the restoration of a PBJ-1J (B-25 Mitchell Bomber) that is an ongoing project of the CAF (Commemorative Air Force) in Camarillo. The aircraft is being named to honor Marine Capt. Doit L. Fish of Marine Bomber Squadron VMB611, the Father of AWONer Dave Fish.
The next planned regional luncheon will be in November in Camarillo to tour the CAF Museum and to check in on the latest progress on the PBJ restoration.
