Reveille is the traditional military Wake-up Call.

Some might remember Irving Berlin's "This is the Army" -- an all-soldier show of the wartime '40s, which included a wonderful "barracks" song called: "Oh how I hate to get up in the morning (Oh how I'd love to remain in bed)." These words are among the lyrics:


Some day I'm going to murder the bugler.
Some day, they're going to find him dead.
And then I'll get that other pup
(the guy that wakes the bugler up), and then
. . . spend the rest of my life in bed.
