On Saturday, January 15th, 2000, a contingent of AWONers from the Carolinas met for lunch in Myrtle Beach at a lovely oceanside restaurant called "The Sea Captain's House." Some of us were meeting each other for the first time! We each shared our stories about our fathers, and had a pleasant and meaningful afternoon. The event was very much enhanced by the presence of Bobbi Leonard's son, Rich, and Yatesy Gilliam's husband. It was disappointing that two of our members couldn't be there, as the beach was just too darned far from the mountains for Patty Wheeler, and Doris Mosely was recovering from an illness.
