Rabbi Elkaim saying a prayer
at William Arthur Reilly's grave.
Lil Holloway and Merrill Baker visited Epinal Cemetery and met Rabbi Elkaim who presides over the Jewish graves there. Merrill had met the Rabbi while in the cemetery 11 years ago. After he said prayers at Merrill's uncle's grave. Merrill asked if the Rabbi could say a prayer for Lil's father who was Catholic. He did so without reservation. He then said a prayer for one of the other deceased soldiers, a father of one of our members, and wrapped up by saying a prayer for the organization itself. It was such a touching thing to do that it was reported in the local newspaper. Merrill writes, "Rabbi Elkaim is a wonderful person and sees the common humanity in all of us."
