Memorial Day 2005 at Epinal
American Cemetery
Vosges, France, village of
Dinoze
The US consul came from Strasbourg
for the ceremony. Approximately 80 per cent of the attendees
were French. This was an exceptional
turnout considering that it was election day and the French
Mother's Day and the temperature
was in the 90s.
The Honor Guard for the ceremony
precedes the colors.
The colors are presented in
front of the Wall of the Missing,
upon which several AWONers'
fathers are listed.
The main speaker was Gen. Bennie
E. Williams, commander of the 21st Theater Support Command
based at Kaiserslauten, Germany.
The AWON Wreath remembers our
Fathers at Epinal.
