Looking for any information on William M. Short. He was in the Army Air Corp during WWII. For a time he was stationed in Biloxi, Ms. Then he went to England. His 2nd cousin said he was killed in the war. He is my brother's father. The service # we gave the VA matched his cousin's with the same Name and Birth date except the year was 10 years later. My brother has tried to get information on his Dad for years. (For my Brother)

Looking for any information about Rudolph Stalzer, Jay C. Bowman, Ralph S. Magri. All of them jumped in Normandy with E/502, 101st airborne division and were killed in action in June 44. Thanks. Sincerely.

I am trying to verify that my navigator, a
Paul Stephens, is buried in The Ardennes
American Cemetary, Neupre, Belgium.
He was MIA on a mission March 15, 1945, but
later listed as KIA near Ruhland, Germany.
F/O Stephens was originally from Cincinnati,
Ohio, and I believe he was the only child of
Charles and Sofia Stephens.

My brother was killed along with 9 other air men on the above date, when their B-24 crashed near Troy OR I have visited the site, and the two who paracuted to safety,and the families that found and saved them,I have a copy of the military accident report, plane records, and I.D.#.I have a pretty good idea how this crash happened. I doubt any other families of the airmen killed have this information, and I would like to share. Some had children after their death.
Those fatalities are as follows.
2nd Lt Hayes Eugene Perry from Algood Tenn.
2nd Lt Clair Eugene Roberts from Cantrill IO
Flt Officer James A Ross from Wayzata Minn.
Cpl Francis A Brouski from St Louis MO
Cpl John V. Ormond from Elizabeth NJ
Cpl Martin E Labaig from Glenwood CA
Cpl Alan P. Glover adress unknown
Cpl Maruice C. Peterson from Houston TX
Cpl Lawrence L. Wren from Liberty MO
Lt Perrys wife sent my mother a birth announcement: Gwendolyn Gene born 8 11 1945.

I would like to know if there is someone who knew my dad George Crowley.He served in Dutch Guiana
around 1943.Later in 1944 was send to England.
George also had a brother Robert who also served in the US.Forces during WWII.

I don't know if I'm an orphan or not, my father was stationed at Robins Air Force Base in Warner Robins,Ga in 1947. My parents divorced, he shipped out and he wasn't told about me and as far as I know,never knew anything at all about me, I have tried for years to find out something about either of them, her name was Elizabeth, but no luck, if anyone knows anything about him please let me know. Dennis was crashed on the 1st off November 1944
He crashed in Legden , Germany . After the War they bring his body to Kleve ( Kleef ) Germany .
From that time he was MIA . Nobody knows where his remains are . Our StudyGroup AirWar is bissy to locate the grave where he is buried . |

from 9/1/1944 to 2/2/1945 On 2-2-1945 The B25-C
that he was the bombardier of crashed near base. He was aviation cadet 253th AAF base unit, Section H San Angelo Army Air Field San Angelo, Texas From 4/30/1944 to 9/1/1944 Here is the name of the men that were killed with him in the crash. 2st Lt Harry L Davis 2st Lt Edward L.Heinlen Joseph G. Wm was stationed at EglinAirBase, Florida and was in one of the training crews that instructed the Doolittle Raiders on the B-25. Although I have not been able to determine with any certainty, he is presumed to be a victim of Sinking of the HMT Rohna transport in the mediterranean. His name does not show up on the victims list on the Rohna web site. He was returned and buried at the Rock Island Nat'l Military Cemetery in 1949 - this is where i obtained the service number shown here. |

I am trying to locate information on my biological father who was a corporal and a tailgunner. He was killed in action in Germany sometime between May 1945 and Oct. 1945. I don't have his name, as my biological mother put me out for adoption when she learned of his death, which occurred before my birth in January 1946. It is believed he may have met her at Stewart Air Force Base in New York State, prior to receiving orders for the 15th Air Force in Bari, Italy. At the time of his death, my father was 25. I have a photo of a serviceman whom I believe is my father, but there is no identifying information on the picture..... only a patch on his left sleeve which is not very distinguishable, although it is possible his last name was Lewis. I am looking for information on my uncle, Cyril J Mullin, and his colleagues, 96 Bomb Group 339 Bomb Squadron. Based out of Snetterton Heath. #42-40016 "The Character." Shot down and killed 4/13/44 on mission to Augsberg, Germany. Three officers and one gunner survived. Was buried in a common grave with two other KIAs at Zachary Taylor National Cemetary, Kentucky, 10/17/50 |

An excellent resource for Army Air Force information can be found at the website www.armyairforces.com There are databases there where you can look up information, and a message board that is frequented by veterans and AAF enthusiasts that can answer just about any question you might have. |

According to "The Army Air Forces in World War II, Volumn IV", the 877th BS, 499th BG was part of the 20th Army Air Force, XXI Bomber Command, 73d Bombardment Wing (VH) flying B-29's. If this is not the "unit designation" information you are looking for, would you please describe what you mean by "unit designation"? |
