This was the WWII Museum area of the Post . . . with its WWII Barracks Complex.

The Day Room is in the background to the left --with regular barracks
on up the company street to the right.

 

A very typical, 2-story, WWII Barracks. Usually one platoon above & one below.
About eighty soldiers lived in a barracks like this.

 

The mops drying near the front doors were a constant reminder
that certain um standards of cleanliness were expected within.

 

A typical WWII Mess Hall. Utilitarian, but warm & cozy. The "kitchen"
can be seen through the glass in the background.
