2. Membership Categories

We offer three categories of Membership in AWON:

1. Orphan Member: Any son or daughter of a member of the Armed Forces, Coast Guard or Merchant Marine who was killed, permanently listed as missing in action, or who died in the line of duty or later died of wounds or injuries sustained during World War II, is eligible and welcome to join as an Orphan Member of AWON.

2. Family Member: Any directly traceable relative of a member of the Armed Forces, Coast Guard or Merchant Marine who was killed, permanently listed as missing in action, or who died while on active duty or later died of wounds or injuries sustained during World War II, is eligible and welcome to join as a Family Member of AWON.

3. Associate Member: Any individual, such as a friend of someone killed in World War II or a friend of an AWON member who wishes to support our mission and to participate in AWON activities is eligible and welcome to join as an Associate Member. Any organization with an interest in and compatibility with AWON's purposes and goals is also welcome to join as an Associate Member.

Orphan and Family members vote on the orphan issues of the group. Associate members maintain non-voting status, but receive our newsletter and are encouraged to participate in most AWON activities.

5. Dues Levels

Members who wish to provide additional financial support to AWON and its activities are encouraged to join at one of the following "Supportive" Levels: Sponsor - $50; Gold Star - $100; Donor - $150; Patron - $250; Founder - $500; Benefactor - $1000.

AWON is a humanitarian, non-profit, non-political public service organization under 501(c)3 of the Federal tax Code (EIN #91-1538912).

Your membership will begin upon receipt and deposit of your check or credit card charge and will expire one year from that date. You will receive our latest newsletter and other information in the mail.
