Bradley Reception • KiMo Theater

Pat Cervenak Albani with James Bradley, Author of "Flags of our Fathers."
James is the son of John "Doc" Bradley, one of the six flag raisers on Iwo Jima.

Here's Pat with Albuquerque residents Ross E. Dimas, an Iwo Jima survivor,
and Gil Sanchez, who served in WWII on the Destroyer USS Macdonough (DD-351).

October 7, 2006, Dick and I spent a very special evening with James Bradley. We attended a small pretalk reception with him prior to his presentation at the KiMo theatre in Albuquerque. During the talk Mr. Bradley discussed both of his books, "Flags of Our Fathers" and "Flyboys." He also discussed Clint Eastwood's Iwo Jima movies, "Flags of Our Fathers", and the other one, "Letters from Iwo Jima," being made from the perspective of the Japanese.

Ross Dimas and Gil Sanchez were two of several WWII Vets attending the James Bradley reception and talk. It was a delight to talk with and hug these two special members of "The Greatest Generation."

The photos were submitted by Pat Cervenak Albani with many thanks!
